Excellent service

We were referred to Elizabeth L. and could not be happier. Based in the UK, we couldn't be there to arrange and accompany the various surveyors we needed and find the additional services we needed to prepare for the sale. Elizabeth was proactive in arranging these without us asking her and communicated with us every step of the way to completion. I cannot recommend Elizabeth highly enough and wouldn't hesitate to contact her again, should we ever need it.

Sale of a loved home in Rochechouart

your representative Elizabeth Day, was excellent from the first time she came to see us at our holiday home in Rochechouart. her knowledge of the market and the professional way she responded to our questions, problems was excellent. the problem we had with the independent body SARS, no one could stop their determination to rob as much capital gains tax from us and holding back large amounts of euros until we proved we were in the UK tax system, we have had to obtain a letter from HRMC to prove our domicile status, this could take 1 - 2 months. the French system has many rules and when it suits them they apply them to their advantage. in conclusion, we were looked after very well and, but for Elizabeth we wouldn't have coped with what you can call a nightmare experience.

Without Patricia, our life goal wouldn't have been achieved.

It's been my wife and I's goal to move to France permanently for many years now. With the assistance of Leggett, we found our forever home in the Charente Maritime in September, shown around the property by Patricia. It was just what we were looking for, a fixer upper with lots of land and outbuildings. For reasons not applicable to this review and certainly not the fault of Leggett and Patricia, we were unable to progress our offer until January 2022. Our offer was duly accepted, we put our UK house on the market and the chain commenced. Then the nightmares started. Again, nothing to do with Leggett/Patricia but suffice to say that anyone familiar with the UK conveyancing system will be aware of its faults and boy, did we get the book thrown at us. The key issue that the delays brought was that our seller needed to get back to the UK quickly for family reasons. We were constantly let down by our UK buyers solictors and those up the chain meaning that exchange was delayed repeatedly, indeed the total time to setup the exchange was near 5 months. During this time, our seller was very stressed, under constant pressure from her family to bail out and relist the property. Patricia went way above the call of duty, keeping closely in touch with both us and the seller, managing the comms, managing the seller, more than once travelling to the house to persuade her not to drop the deal. I should add that Patricia also did a huge amount of work to facilitate the Diagnostique and all aspects of the sale, indeed roping in her husband to dig a hole required to check the Fosse, again , this is superb customer service. Throughout the entire tortuous process, Patricia remained professional, cheerful, pro-active and on top of the issues. Not once did we feel that we were being let down in any way, indeed we always had a sense of confidence that because Patricia was our agent, all would eventually be well. We finally defeated the conveyancing forces arrayed against us, exchanged and of course, completed. Again, Patricia helped us greatly with the Notaire, managing the comms in French and attending the completion meeting with us to help with translation. As I put in the title, without Patricia, we wouldn't have achieved a major life goal. As I sit here typing in our fabulous French farmhouse, looking out over the wonderful garden, I'm struggling to find words to convey our eternal thanks and appreciation for all Patricia did for us. Patricia is an incredible professional and a huge credit and asset to Leggett Immobilier.

Tres bonne qualite de service

My agent was SG. She was efficient, in regular contact with the vendors, answered questions quickly, readily available for viewings and other appointments, and helped with admin, utilities etc. I was purchasing on my own so needed someone I could rely on, and she was there to help and advise.
